Cadillac Burger by j3concepts Cadillac Burger by j3concepts
This was a logo and logo treatment for Montreal based restaurant, Cadillac Burger.
Cadillac burger will be opening later this year in core downtown Montreal, Quebec. They'll serve classic hamburgers, poutine, onion rings etc. all with very high quality ingredients and cooking techniques. All this in a comfortable, fresh, urban environment.

I'm very happy with the final results of the logo treatment. I think it illustrates the more classy "Cadillac" theme with the diamonds and flowers and then the more down to earth rustic feel with the cleavers and wood grains.
Client was great to work with and very precise on what they wanted but also allowing me to have artistic freedom ie: eyeballs, coral, purple coloring, typo style etc.

The quality of the illustration is top notch as always but I don't really understand the logo.

I like the idea of including an earthly rustic feel as this reflects a certain organic/quality dimension to the product but I can't help feeling youmissed a trick when it comes to the "Cadillac" part. The 50's were so iconic from things such as the car itself to some real bold graphic design and typography (I like your Cadillac type by the way :))

Don't quite understand the eyeballs either...

"Cadillac" is a term used to represent the "best" of something, like "that is the Cadillac of burgers" or "that is the Cadillac of homes". This is represent by the classy "Cadillac" type and the diamonds.
Also, a logo doesn't necessarily have to have a meaning behind it, in some cases clients want something eye catching, which was in this case.
Eyeballs, coral etc. are all for added appeal, not really having to do with anything. Don't look at it literally :)
